Before we had even heard of F1 in schools, 5 of our 6 team members were a part of an engineering competition run by Mitsibushi called the "pump it up" challenge where we had great success, making it to the finals and winning a runner up sustainability award along with a £100 prize! this played a significant part in our current team coming together.

when we were first brought together our first priority was asigning roles. Alastair was originally given the role of manufacturing engineer and Rae was the design engineer but we later decided it would be better to swap their roles with the current lineup being:
Our next priority was our name and logo, and from the start we wanted to stand out, be original, and embody our Scottish-ness. leading us the name NEVIS Racing, named after a famous Scottish feature, the tallest mountain in UK, Ben Nevis!

We then got to work preparing for regionals, designing and building the car, gaining sponsorships, preparing folios and pit display...

...And it payed off! We came FIRST in the Scottish-wide regional competition, also winning the best folio award. We also had the fastest car at the competition (however we didn't win the award for that due to some minor regulation violations). It was a truly great experience and secured our place in the UK national finals

At the UK national finals we were able to meet some amazing teams, gain priceless experiences and achieved a nomination for the project management award and won the sponsorship and marketing award!

After a break to deal with exams and just to get away from eachother after spending 3-4 days straight together, we will be getting back to work preparing to start it all again at the pro class scottish regionals (we can't wait!)
